TEDx Stage Design

Walla Walla University scheduled its first ever TEDx event. They requested a volunteer from the Industrial Design department to design and construct the set. I saw this as a chance to gain experience in a completely new medium and joined the team. Sketching | Ideation | Construction | Illustrator | Laser Cutting

In meetings with the event coordinator and the director of the drama department, rope was chosen to represent the theme “Turning Points” in a stunning way while not distracting from the speaker.
The Building Process
Construction required two people, hammers, nails, chop-saws, and paint.
Event Photos
The “Walla Walla University” letters were laser cut from clear acrylic and painted white.
